Air Fryer Accessories: What Is Worth Buying and What Fits

Which air fryer accessories are worth buying, how to check fit by model number, and what Ninja and Cosori manuals say about liners, racks and parts.

The air fryer accessories worth buying are the ones that solve a real problem: liners for cleanup, a rack for a second layer, a pan for batters, a thermometer for doneness, and the right replacement basket or crisper plate. Fit matters more than brand, so check your model number and the maker’s official part list first.

What to check before you buy any air fryer accessory

Most accessory disappointments come from fit, not quality. Run through these before you order.

  1. Your exact model number. Parts are listed by model, not by brand or capacity.
  2. The official part list. SharkNinja publishes compatible models on every part page. Cosori lists sizes and models in its product names.
  3. Basket shape and inside size. Basket shape decides which liners and racks sit flat. Makers rarely publish inside dimensions, so measure yourself; our liner and basket measuring guide shows how.
  4. Heat rating. Cosori rates its own parchment liners to 465°F. Anything you add should be rated above your air fryer’s top setting.
  5. Airflow. The crisper plate exists to let air reach the bottom of the food. An accessory that blocks it can slow cooking.
  6. Genuine or compatible. Maker parts carry a part number; compatible parts rely on the seller’s fit claim. More on that below.

Where to find your model number

SharkNinja says to check the bottom of the box near the barcode, the rating label on the back or bottom of the unit, or the front cover of the manual. The CPSC notes that Cosori model numbers are printed on the bottom label and in the user manual.

Liners: parchment or silicone?

Liners keep grease off the basket, and most of the manuals we checked allow them, with conditions.

Ninja’s AF100 FAQ says it is safe to use parchment paper and aluminum foil in the basket. Cosori’s Pro LE manual says you may use parchment paper or foil, but never put paper in without food on top, because air circulation can lift it into the heating coils. Cosori’s own liners carry the same warning: do not put the paper liner in during preheating.

Cosori sells its disposable liners in two sizes, for 3 to 5 quart and 5 to 6 quart baskets, 100 to a pack. That quart-based sizing is common, but quart ratings do not tell you the basket’s inside shape. Compare the liner’s stated diameter or length with your own measurement.

Racks and pans

A rack doubles the usable floor of a basket. A pan holds batters and saucy dishes that would drip through a crisper plate.

Makers sell their own versions for specific models. SharkNinja’s Multi-Layer Insert (104KY100) is listed for the AF100, AF101, AF150 and AF160 families, and its DualZone Multi-Layer Rack (132KY100) for the DZ100, DZ201 and DZ250 families. Cosori sells a six-piece set for its 5.8-quart air fryer with a cake pan, pizza pan, silicone mat, metal holder, egg bites mold and a rack with four skewers.

Leave space above the food. Cosori’s manual warns that heaping food can touch the heating coils and cause a fire hazard, and it says to be extremely cautious with containers that are not metal or glass. Our racks and pans guide covers layer racks, cake barrels and pizza pans in detail.

Thermometers: the accessory that answers “is it done?”

Air fryer cook times are starting points. SharkNinja’s Crispi FAQ, for example, tells owners to cut the time when cooking less food than a recipe calls for and add time when cooking more. A food thermometer removes the guesswork.

The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service lists these minimum internal temperatures:

  • All poultry, including wings and ground poultry: 165°F
  • Ground meats: 160°F
  • Beef, pork, veal and lamb steaks, chops and roasts: 145°F, then rest at least 3 minutes
  • Fish and shellfish: 145°F

A thermometer matters most for large cuts that no chart covers. Turkey breast is the clearest case: it is missing from the Ninja, Cosori, Instant and Philips charts we checked, so the 165°F reading is the only fixed point. Oil sprayers

Oil is optional in most air fryers. Ninja’s AF100 FAQ suggests starting with one tablespoon and adjusting to taste. Cosori’s troubleshooting table says spraying or brushing a small amount of oil can make food crispier. A refillable sprayer or mister gives a thin, even coat. Replacement baskets and crisper plates

Nonstick baskets wear out. Ninja’s AF100 FAQ says minor scratches should not affect performance as long as most of the coating is intact, and suggests a replacement basket if performance changes.

Replacement parts are where fit matters most. SharkNinja’s Air Fryer Crisper Plate (103KY100) is listed for both the 4-quart AF101 and the 5.5-quart AF161, yet the two use different baskets. Genuine parts or compatible parts?

Genuine parts are made by the air fryer’s maker and listed by part number for specific models. Compatible parts come from other makers, and the fit claim is the seller’s. Cosori’s Pro LE manual recommends Cosori parts and accessories, and the Ninja Crispi owner’s guide recommends parts sold or recommended by SharkNinja. If you choose a compatible accessory, check the size against your basket and the listing’s return terms, and follow the maker’s rules for paper and heat. How to buy air fryer accessories on eBay

  • Search by part number when replacing an official part, such as 103KY100 for a Ninja crisper plate.
  • Treat “fits” claims with care. A listing may describe a part as compatible with your model. Only the maker’s part page confirms it.
  • Check listed dimensions against your own basket measurement.
  • Look at seller feedback and the returns policy, especially for baskets, which are bulky to send back.

Frequently asked questions

What accessories do you actually need for an air fryer?

Basket models from makers such as Ninja and Cosori come with a basket and a crisper plate, which is enough to start. Common add-ons are liners for easier cleanup, a rack for a second layer, a small pan for batters and a food thermometer to check doneness.

Do universal air fryer accessories fit every model?

No. Baskets vary in shape and size, even between models with the same quart rating. SharkNinja, for example, sells different 4-quart baskets for its AF101 and its DualZone DZ201. Measure your basket and compare it with the accessory's stated size.

Are third-party air fryer accessories safe to use?

Look for a heat rating above your air fryer's top setting and a size that matches your measured basket, and keep the accessory clear of the heating element. Your manual may also say which accessories the maker recommends.

Can I put parchment paper in my air fryer?
