Air Fryer Basket Replacement: Find the Right Basket or Crisper Plate

To replace an air fryer basket or crisper plate, find the model number on the unit’s rating label, then look up that exact model on the manufacturer’s parts page. SharkNinja lists compatible models for each part number. If the maker sells no replacement, a compatible part from another maker can work; compare its stated dimensions with your own basket first.

Why you might need a new basket or plate

Most replacements come down to one of these:

1. Worn nonstick coating. Scratches, peeling or food that now sticks every time.
2. A lost or damaged part. A crisper plate that went missing, or rubber bumpers that fell off.
3. A cracked or loose handle. Cosori’s Pro LE manual says not to unscrew the basket handle from the basket.
4. A spare. A second basket can soak while the other one cooks.
5. Chipped glass. For glass models such as the Ninja Crispi, the manual says to stop using any container that is dropped, chipped, cracked or severely scratched.

Do you actually need a new one?

Not always. Ninja’s AF100 FAQ says minor scratches should not affect performance as long as most of the nonstick coating is still in place. It suggests a replacement basket if performance changes.

For a crisper plate that rattles, check the rubber stoppers first. Cosori’s Pro LE manual says the plate has four stoppers that keep it fitted to the basket and stop it scratching the coating. They come out for cleaning; soak them in water, then push each one back in through the bottom of the plate, one side at a time.

If a plate is stuck, SharkNinja’s DZ550 FAQ suggests letting the unit cool, removing the basket, running it under cold water and pulling firmly on the small handle in the plate’s center.

How to find the right replacement part

Step 1: Find the full model number

SharkNinja says to check the bottom of the box, the rating label on the back or bottom of the unit, or the front of the manual. The CPSC notes that Cosori model numbers are on the bottom label and in the user manual. Copy every character, including color codes such as QBK or C.

Step 2: Check that the unit is not recalled

Search your brand and model on the CPSC recalls list at cpsc.gov. If the whole unit is under recall, follow the recall remedy rather than buying parts for it. Our Cosori accessories guide lists the models in the 2023 Cosori recall.

Step 3: Look up the maker’s parts page

SharkNinja’s air fryer parts section lists its baskets, plates and racks, and each part page lists the models it is made for. Cosori’s TurboBlaze manual says additional and replacement accessories are available through Customer Support.

Step 4: Match the part number, not the capacity

This is where most wrong orders happen. Compare these official Ninja parts:

Step 5: Buying a compatible part? Measure first

When the maker does not sell a replacement, a compatible basket or plate from another maker may be the only option. The fit claim comes from the seller rather than the manufacturer, so check it yourself.

Measure your basket’s inside length, width or diameter, and depth, and compare them with the listing. Few manufacturers publish inside dimensions, so your own measurement is the reference. Our liner guide shows how to measure an air fryer basket.

Cosori’s manuals recommend using Cosori parts, and the Ninja Crispi owner’s guide recommends parts sold or recommended by SharkNinja. If you choose a compatible part instead, check the size against your basket and the listing’s return terms.

Replacement baskets and crisper plates

Once you have a part number, searching by it is the quickest way to find the right piece. Check the listing photos against your old part: the handle shape, release button and plate bumpers should match.

Making a new basket last longer

• Use non-metal utensils. Ninja recommends scratch-resistant, non-metal utensils and non-abrasive cleaning materials for its nonstick baskets.
• Skip oven cleaner. SharkNinja’s FAQs say harsh oven or grill cleaners can ruin the nonstick coating.
• Consider hand-washing. Both Ninja and Cosori call their baskets dishwasher safe, but SharkNinja recommends hand-washing DZ550 baskets to extend their life.
• Line the basket, not the plate. Cosori’s Pro LE manual says lining the basket with foil, except the crisper plate, may make cleanup easier.

When to replace the air fryer instead

A new basket makes sense when the rest of the machine works well. Consider the whole unit instead if it is on a recall list, if no official or clearly matching part exists, or if the unit itself is damaged. Check the warranty first: Ninja’s AF100 FAQ lists a 1-year limited warranty, and Cosori’s Pro LE manual lists 2 years.
